Prepare for the New Year

The new financial= year is fast approaching and there are some simple ways in which you can prepa= re.

 =

  1. Ensure you have all your documentation together a= nd ready to go, including PAYG summaries, bank interest, rental property details, motor vehicle log books, medical expenses, and child support details
  2. Ensure that you have a current, working backup of your data file (if applicable)
  3. Now is a great time to spend money if you have it!  Make any purchases= that you may be able to claim deductions for
  4. Plan for 2010-2011 before it arrives.  Know what you want to achie= ve this coming financial year
  5. Consider making a personal superannuation contribution.  The gove= rnment may match your contribution dollar for dollar up to a maximum of $10= 00.

What Are Your Customers Thinking?

When was the last= time you walked out of a shop thinking to yourself “I will never go back= to shop there again”?  Wh= at are your customers thinking about your business?  Do they leave satisfied and ravi= ng about the service, or are they walking out, never to return again?

 =

Time and time aga= in I leave a shop with a sour experience.&nbs= p; It might be the way that the shop assistant didn’t acknowled= ge that I was even in the shop.  It might be the way that the receptionist growled her greeting at me.  More often than not it is the la= ck of the promised phone call I was to receive when the business was unable to = help me with my questions while I was in-store.

 =

These are all fun= damental elements of running a business, regardless of the industry.  Customer perception is your grea= test resource for growing your business.

 =

Make sure that yo= ur staff know what they are selling and equip them with the necessary tools = to deal with customer’s queries.  Provide adequate training for your staff, as this will keep them motivated and up to date with industry trends and new technologies.  Not only will this make your bus= iness more competitive, but your staff will benefit from learning new skills, developing them into a valued asset in your organisation.

C= ommunity Awareness<= o:p>

We g= ot to thinking recently, how can A.L.L. Business give back to the community whi= ch has supported our business since we opened our doors back in 2002?  A brainstorming session was held= where ideas were thrown about, some great ones, some not so impressive, like the idea to participate in Movember.  Those of you who know us well will know that we are an all-female office!

Afte= r much thought, the decision was made to take part in a group donation to the Australian Red Cross Blood Service  This was daunting at first, as none of the team had previously don= ated blood, but the wonderful men and ladies at the Hervey Bay Blood Donor Cen= ter made the whole process as painless as possible.

We h= ave decided to make this a regular event on our calendar and we urge you to consider this too as only one donation can save up to three lives.  Should you be involved in any community events that you think we would like to hear about, please let u= s know.
